Life So Far...

Welcome to Austin Michael Allan's blog!

I decided to stop boring all my friends on facebook with thousands of pictures and status updates and to instead collate all the babylicious goods onto this one page.

I'm assuming the only people reading it will be Mum & Brenda (Hi Guys!).

Aussie's 12weeks now so lets do a bit of catching up....

There was the pregnancy, were I made a home so comfy Austin decided he didn't want to move out...

On the 6th of January 2010 it was time for Austin's eviction...We were admitted to Flinders Medical Centre at 3pm. It was a Tuesday afternoon. My waters broke at 9.30 that evening and at 7.21pm the following evening Austin Michael Allan made his entrance into the world, weighing 3.8kg and measure 53cm long. His apgar scores were 9 and 9.

Rod was a fantastic birth partner even sustaining a few painful injuries himself. I'm neither confirming or denying that the bite I gave him was intentional. ha ha.

Austin was admitted to the neo-natal ward for a 48hr course of anti-biotics. The other Mum's in the ward must have thought we were crazy with our whopper baby sleeping next to their tiny premmie angels. Night feeds were hard, Rod stayed at the hospital with us for the 5 nights sleeping on a 'luxurious' trundle bed and by 'luxurious' I mean 'torture instrument', we slumped downstairs to the labour ward looking like zombies to feed our little one...

After 5 days the hospital finally kicked us out and although I was sad to say goodbye to the fantastic hospital food, it was exciting to be heading home with our new little family. Austin's first few baths at home were an experience to be missed! although snug-as-a-bug in the water...

he would scream blue murder when we took him out, soothing baby massage my ass!

Our first few weeks were spent getting to know one another and taking..oh about a million photo's. I'm not entirely sure that he doesn't, in fact think he was born to a pair of camera lenses.

Rod especially enjoyed those first few weeks...most especially the dirty nappy side of things.

Austin copped a nasty case of newborn acne in the weeks after his birth...and for this period of time he was effectionately dubbed "pizza face".

oohhhh poor pumpkin! Thankfully this cleared up soon after and we were left with our beautiful little man once again.

Since then we've been very busy doing what newborns do...nothing. But Austin has been growing exceptionally well...at least one fat roll a day! He's been spoilt with cuddles and even been on a holiday to Broken Hill with Nan & Pop Baldwin.

This is Austin with his Aunty Frankee,

He's also been busy watching some Top Gear with Dad

Oh gosh there's about a 1000 more photo's to come still. Will update as we get time!

Lots of love,

Rod, Lindsay & Austin xoxox
